The following steps just sort of came to me. This is not something I have attempted previously. My thinking is, at this stage, try it-if it doesn't work just paint over it, so anything goes! Using my fingers I began smearing a tan color in a "splattered" pattern across all the surfaces where I intended to place my faeries. The tan is a couple of shades darker than the cream base coat. Feeling it needed more depth and interest I used the same 'technique' to add a complimentary green to the mix.
So far, so good.
